Speed has always thrilled men’s adrenalin along with convenience to reach one’s destination at a quicker pace. The introduction of Jet Aircrafts has fulfilled this dream since they can travel at a great speed anywhere around the world. It will surprise many of us with the fact that all these airliners moves even faster than sound. And yes they are man made!!! So without wasting time let us know the peculiarities of each of the Jets that have earned a position in the record of top ten fastest Jet Aircrafts in the world.

 #10  Falcon HTV        

 Falcon HTV flies with a crazy speed of 13,000 miles per hour or 3.6 miles per second and is devised to address terrorist attacks. The first HTV-2 flight was launched on 22 April 2010 and the second flight was launched on 11 August 2011.

 #9  F-111 Aardvark          

 F-111 Aardvark was a medium-range interdictor and tactical strike aircraft which was manufactured in 1960s by General Dynamics. The jet earns a place among the top ten fastest Jet Aircrafts in the world since it can run at 1,850 miles per hour or 1.3 Mach. An active use of Royal Australian Air Force, it is powered by twin Pratt & Whitney TF30-P-100 afterburners turbo fans. The capability to immobilize enemies’ radar is its greatest advantage.

 #8  Mig 31 Foxhound          

With a whooping speed of 2.83 Mach, Mig 31 Foxhound was designed by the Mikoyan to replace the Mig-25 “Foxbat”. It is driven by two SoloveivD-30F6 afterburners turbo fans and has the capability to produce 34,172 lbf of dry thrust. The 67,600 feet altitude flyer has two seats, one for the pilot and the other for an officer who specializes in weapon systems.

 Designed by McDonnell Douglas to gain and maintain air superiority in aerial combat, F-15 Eagle is a twin engine, all weather strategic jet fighter with a speed of 2.5 mach. This jet can carry over 24,000 pounds of various missiles and bombs with the ability to outfight any recent aircraft of the enemy. It is a one seated aircraft with high quality electronic armaments and devices which can sense, acquire, follow and attack rival aircraft.

The Bell X-2 Starbuster was another creation by United States and was a research project with the ability to fly at a speed of 3 Mach. Starbuster is powered by two-chamber XLR25 sea level thrust throttle-able engine. The jet is associated with the tragic story of Lt.Col. Frank K, the first one to test it but lost his life in the process.
